[Madison, Wisc…] When Wisconsin voters cast their ballots for president and a slew of other down-ticked elected offices Tuesday, a number of them also faced spending requests from their local school districts. All told, schools across Wisconsin were asking for $274 million in revenue for projects ranging from renovations to new swimming pools.
Like the races for office, the results were mixed.
In Palmyra, voters said no to raising revenue caps. In Grafton, they said yes.
Results in the Franklin District itself were mixed, with voters approving funding for academic additions and a new auditorium, but rejecting more spending to renovate the middle school gym by a four-point margin.
And in Pulaski, big ticket spending items failed altogether. The district was asking for more than $33 million for projects that included a new swimming pool and upgrades to its athletic complex, but voters said no.
