[Appleton, Wisc…] Post-Crescent Media has reported that the Appleton Area School District has officially announced a switch from United HealthCare to Networkwill, following the Board of Education’s vote of approval.The new plans will allow for employees to chose from a variety of plans, now including an HMO option with lower premiums and employee cost.
Depending on the plans that employees pick, the switch will save the school district between $1.1 million and $3.3 million in the first year alone.
This change is yet another example of the positive influence of Act 10. Despite the lack of continued bargaining or stringent union representation, the school board has made an agreement which will pass savings directly onto hardworking taxpayers.
Despite what the detractors have said, Act 10 is the gift that keeps on giving.
