[Madison, Wisc…] In a shift from typical talking points, Republicans and Democrats switched sides on Obamacare. Under Governor Walker’s proposed budget, childless adults who are above the poverty line will no longer qualify for BadgerCare, but will be able to enter into the federal health insurance exchange set up by the Affordable Care Act. This would allow those under the poverty level, on a waiting list for BadgerCare, to access the program. Democrats are opposed to this legislation becuase Walker denied the federal expansion of medicaid which would give temporary funds to Wisconsin, but would end up costing more in the long run.
