[Madison, Wisc…] The Wisconsin Assembly passed a bill that reforms the FoodShare program on a 60-35 vote on May 13th.If the Senate passes the bill and it becomes law, it would ultimately limit two-thirds of purchases made with FoodShare benefits to items on a preapproved list.
Democrats criticized the bill and accused Republicans of being disconnected. Then Rep. Brooks, the bill’s author, shared his story.
