[Madison, Wisc…] During a public hearing last week representatives of Gogebic Taconite, the company that wants to mine iron ore in northern Wisconsin, explained the company’s business model of hiring local workers without mining experience and training them.

After this explanation, Rep. JoCasta Zamarripa (D-Milwaukee) asked why the company would not be required to give money for government training programs.
